Lucille Desiree Ball was born in Jamestown, New
York in 1911. She was the American comedienne, beginning her career
as a Hollywood contract player in the 30s and eventually making
over 50 films. She became a legend with the TV show "I Love
Lucy"(which ran for 6 seasons), in which she starred with husband
Desi Arnaz.
Later, she went on to star in "The Lucy Show"
(which ran for 7 seasons) and "Here's Lucy" (which ran
for 6 seasons). In 1984, she was inducted into the Televison Academy
Hall of Fame. She died in 1989.
